LOUD NOISES!!!
HAVE ARRIVED ...
174 - 114 VICTORY OVER THE CHAMPS!
Rob Gronkowski (27-points)
Loud Noises!!! dropped 174-points on the defending champion Delta Marauders in Week 7, avenging their 108-99 Week 1 defeat.
Tight end Rob Gronkowski stole the show with 27-points thanks in part to 78 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns.
Many others factored in this benchmark victory for LN!!! who flexed their muscle for the first time in the BCFFL. An early acquisition Matt Hasselbeck (16-points) and rookie sensation Andrew Luck (26-points) held their own against Robert Griffin III (30-points) and Matthew Stafford (19-points).
Doug Martin (19-points) and Fred Jackson (21-points) won the day at the RB spot by comparison.
Victor Cruz (33-points) was the lone bright spot in Week 7 for the Marauders and that came with under a minute to go in New York with his 77-yard TD reception.
FRICK and FRACK WHACK THE WILDCATS
135-97
Arian Foster (25-points)
Arian Foster led Frick and Frack to a season sweep of the Wildcats with 98 rushing yards and 2 rushing touchdowns. FF took out the Wildcats 168-142 in Week 1 and took the Week 7 match-up 135-97. In doing so, FF improves to 3-4 and a three-way tie with the Fuzz and Loud Noises!!! behind the Delta Marauders.
Matt Schaub (24-points) and Sam Bradford (16-points in relief of Peyton Manning) came up strong at QB. Miles Austin (19-points) and Frank Gore (18-points) combined for 37-points, while Sebastian Janikowski outpaced Wildcats kicker Blair Walsh, 14-3.
In Week 6, Frick and Frack left over 100-points on the bench in a tough loss to the Predators. In Week 7, they got the most bang for their buck, leaving just 23-points on the bench.
For the Wildcats, Andre Roberts (20-points), John Skelton (17-points), and Heath Miller (17-points) had standout performances. Unfortunately, it was a down week for most of the line-up. Look for the Wildcats to get back on track in Week 8.
PREDATORS ON THE PROWL
104-93 WIN OVER GATORS!
Aaron Rodgers (35-points)
Damn! Now THIS is the Aaron Rodgers that was the #1 draft pick 9 weeks ago. It took about 6 weeks but Aaron Rodgers is living up to his potential. And the beneficiaries of Rodgers strong, accurate throwing arm are the Predators. The tough luck loss goes to the Allie-Gators who played well, but fell by a mere 11-points.
Rodgers threw 3 TD passes and for 342 yards. What more can you ask of him? Even more unfortunate for opponents of the Packers AND Predators? His favorite target is teammate Jordy Nelson (22-points). Once you get past their 57 combined points, the Predators still had Alfred Morris (13-points) and Blaine Gabbert (11-points) to add to the mix.
For the Allie-Gators, Carson Palmer (27-points) and Jay Cutler (16-points) were strong. Brandon Marshall (18-points) made a big contribution as well. However, the rest of the line-up went AWOL in Week 7.
The Gators will look to regroup in Week 8. The Predators improved to 4-3 on the season.
BACKDOOR BANDITS EXPLODE
ON HOUSTON FUZZ: 155-141
Drew Brees (40-points)
Don't look now but the Backdoor Bandits are the team to beat in the BCFFL. The Bandits are percentage points behind The MEGATONS with a solid 5-2 record to Andrew's 5-1-1. Week 7 was another Bandits victory, this time a 155-141 defeat of the Houston Fuzz and their vaunted 1-2 punch of Tom Brady and Eli Manning. How did the Backdoor Bandits do it?
You can start with a 40-point effort from fantasy freak Drew Brees. Manning and Brady combined for 48-points. Throw in Adrian Peterson's 23-points, Vincent Jackson's 31-points, and Marques Colston's 17-points, and you should start to really get the picture. The Bandits line-up is an all-out assault on opposing teams.
Once again the Bandits maximize their starting 10 leaving only 3-points on the bench.
The Fuzz got strong outings from their QBs as well as strong play from the bottom of their line-up. Owen Daniels (15-points), Percy Harvin (14-points), and the Texans DST (26-points) played strong. The Fuzz just came up short against the better team in Week 7.
MEGATONS REMAIN LEAGUE'S ELITE
121-99 WIN OVER SPOILER
Chris Johnson (43-points)
Remember this guy? Chris Johnson, a former #1 pick of the BCFFL draft is once again playing like one. CJ28 came up with a huge 43-point game with a staggering 195 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns, including one on an 83-yard run!
Ben Roethlisberger (19-points) and Denarius Moore (13-points) were the other major contributors to The Megatons line-up.
For The Spoiler, Week 7 was a lost opportunity. Kelvin's team drops to 3-4 while The MEGATONS remain the league's #1 team. Cam Newton (21-points), Steve Johnson (17-points) and Steven Jackson (13-points) got The Spoiler as close as they were going to get. It just was not enough to get the job done.
