WEEK 3 REVIEW

MEGATONS GO BIG BEN ON THE CATS!
Ben Roethlisberger (Week 3: 43-points)

The MEGATONS won the $10 prize for the week's highest score - 164-points - and defeated the Wildcats by 31-points to take over 1st place in the Original Division. "Big" Ben's 43-points on Drew's Raiders (ironically) were the difference, though Oakland did get a last-second victory. Andy Dalton has emerged as a top QB recently. The Bengals' QB dropped 39-points on the Redskins. Ray Rice (22) and CJ Spiller (15 before getting injured) helped sustain a mighty Megatons victory!

The Wildcats were led by Giants' RB Andre Brown (28) and Calvin Johnson (26) in defeat. Mark Sanchez (17) and Julio Jones (16) also played well in defeat.

Notable bench play for The Megatons included Torrey Smith of Baltimore with 32-points. For the Wildcats, both QBs Blaine Gabbert (20) and recent acquisition Kevin Kolb 924) played well, along with Cincinnati's Andrew Hawkins (27) and Pittsburg tight end Heath Miller (26).

ALLIE-GATORS BEAT THE FUZZ, 128-105
Matt Ryan (Week 3: 29-points)

The Allie-Gators have shook off a rough Week 2 with another victory, this time a 128-107 win over the Houston Fuzz. Matt Ryan continues to look like he should've been the #1 overall pick with another impressive performance.

Darren McFadden's 27-points were second to Ryan in his 113-yard rushing day in a win against Pittsburgh. And the bottom of the Gators line-up made the biggest difference in Week 3. The ageless wonder, Tony Gonzalea had 19-points on 91-receiving yards and a TD. Robbie Gould dropped 14-points on St. Louis which included a 54-yard field goal. And the Jets DST had 10-points in a last-second win over Miami.

The struggles continued for Houston who remain hot at the QB spot with 42-points combined from Tom Brady (22) and Eli Manning (20). Wes Welker (14), Owen Daniels (12), and Trent Richardson (12) were the rest of the offense for Houston in Week 3.

Plenty of notable scoring on the Houston bench including Ryan Fitzpatrick (29), Kevin Walter (27), and a trio of players in the thrilling game in Nashville between the Titans and Lions: Nate Washington (31), Titus Young (17 after catching the Hail Mary in Tennessee), and Jared Cook (27).

For the Gators, Carson Palmer continues to look like an enticing offer at QB. He had his second straight strong week with 26-points.

Up next for the Allie-Gators: The Spoiler (2-1)
Up next for the Houston Fuzz: Delta Marauders (3-0)

DELTA MARAUDERS IMPROVE TO 3-0!
Robert Griffin III (Week 3: 33-points)

After winning their way through the post-season and a second straight BCFFL Championship, the Delta Marauders have rattled off three consecutive victories to open the 2012 season. Talk about consistent. This week's victim of the Marauders' NFL rookie phenom RGIII (33-points) were the Predators. Griffin was a risky pick, but at 3-0, and Griffin leading the way each week, he's got the Rookie-of-the-Year Award in the bag.

Mikel Leshoure (21), Matt Stafford (21), Mike Wallace (22) and Vernon Davis (15) helped lead a winning attack for the Marauders.

The Predators dropped to 1-2 on the season in this tough loss. Maurice Jones-Drew (34-points) and Andre Johnson (27) were the only studs in the line-up. Russell Wilson (19) and Joe Flacco (35) were strong plays on the bench, but who would've sat Aaron Rodgers (12) and Mike Vick (11)? It was just a tough week is all. Expect the Predators to bounce back for their big match-up against their arch-rival Megatons in Week 4.

Up next for the Delta Marauders: Houston Fuzz (1-2)
Up next for the Predators: The MEGATONS (2-1)

BANDITS WHACK FRICK AND FRACK, 128-107
Jamaal Charles (Week 3: 44-points)

One big miss for Frick and Frack cost them an important victory in Week 3 over the Backdoor Bandits. Matt Schaub was benched in favor of Sam Bradord. That was a 48-point swing on the heels of Schaub's big day in Denver: 4 TDs on 290 yards passing. It wasn't to be.

Jamaal Charles of the Chiefs stole the show in The Big Easy with 44-points of his own. Drew Brees (28) played well in the same game. And that was basically the story of this contest.

Up next for the Backdoor Bandits: Wildcats (1-2)
Up next for Frick and Frack: Loud Noises!!! (1-2)

LOUD NOISES!!! DROPS
THE BOOM ON THE SPOILER
A.J. Green (Week 3: 39-points)

Welcome to the BCFFL Loud Noises!!! Ryan earned his first BCFFL win over The Spoiler in Week 3, 138-102. Bengals' WR A.J. Green had a lot to say about the victory with his 73-yard TD reception and 39-points. Andrew Luck continued to shine with his 30-point effort against Jacksonville. And Antonio Brown (18) and Michael Bush (14) also played well in victory.

Cam Newton 914) and Steve Johnson (16) were the lone bright spots for The Spoiler in addition to the Bears DST (20) who ate the Rams alive.

The Spoiler had some strong bench play including Jason Hanson (18), Martellus Bennett (17), and Alex Smith (16). For Loud Noises!!! it was Jake Locker (45), Christian Ponder (32) and Shaun Hill (20) racking up crazy bench points.

WEEK 2 REVIEW

157-151
THE MEGATONS def LOUD NOISES!!!

Andy Dalton (37-points)
318 PaYd, 3 PaTD (10,44,50), PaInt, 4 RuYd

The Megatons rebounded from a tough outing Week 1 behind the strong play of Bengals QB Andy Dalton and his 37-points. CJ Spiller played his way into the line-up in Week 1 and cemented a starting spot in the line-up from now on with a second straight impressive outing: 32-points in Week 2. Ben Roethlisberger (25), Stephen Gostkowski (18), and and Demaryius Thomas (17) played well in a winning effort, lifting The Megatons to a 1-1 record.

Up Next: Wildcats (1-1)

Andrew Luck (25-points)
224 PaYd, 2 PaTD (3,30), 21 RuYd

Andrew Luck led the way for Loud Noises!!! who dropped to 0-2 on the young season. Still, with 151-points, LN!!! played well enough than more than half the league. They're due. The Bills DST (24), Justin Tucker (17), and Rob Gronkowski (17) are the other top producers in a balanced attack from Noises!!! in Week 2.

Up Next: The Spoiler (2-0)

187-107
DELTA MARAUDERS def BACKDOOR BANDITS

Robert Griffin III (44-points)
206 PaYd, PaTD (68), PaInt, 82 RuYd, 2 RuTD (5,7)

Wow. That's about all anyone can say about the Redskins rookie phenom, RGIII. Although the 'Skins lost in Week 2, Griffin dropped 44-points on the Backdoor Bandits in a $10 victory for the two-time defending champion, Delta Marauders. Apparently, the sky's the limit for RGIII.

In addition to stellar play from Griffin, the DMs got 37-points from Victor Cruz, 27-points from Vernon Davis, and 20-points out of Roddy White.

Up Next: Predators (1-1)

Drew Brees (26-points)
325 PaYd, PaTD (1), 2 PaInt, RuTD (1)

DrewBrees continues to lead the way for the Backdoor Bandits. Though they've yet to win, Brees' consistent play makes this team a constant challenge to overcome. Vincent Jackson (22), the Seahawks DST (15), and Tony Romo (16) played strong for the Bandits.

Notable bench play came from Reggie Bush in Miami with 43-points on 172 rushing yards and a pair of TDs. Matt Cassel also contributed 27-points at QB for the Bandits off the bench.

Up Next: Frick and Frack (1-1)

139-115
THE SPOILER def FRICK and FRACK

Cam Newton (33-points)
253 PaYd, PaTD (17), 71 RuYd, RuTD (5), FL

The Spoiler improved to 2-0 with a solid 139-115 victory over Frick and Frack in Week 2. Led by Cam Newton's strong play in a big win over New Orleans, The Spoiler now prepare for an encounter with BCFFL newcomer Loud Noises!!! in Week 3.

Philip Rivers (30), Marshawn Lynch (20), and Steve Johnson (15) were the other big plays for The Spoiler in Week 2.

Up Next: Loud Noises!!! (0-2)

Hakeem Niks (29-points)
199 ReYd, ReTD (23)

Frick and Frack took a step back in Week 2 in a tough loss to The Spoiler. However, there were some pleasant surprises. Hakeem Niks stepped up with 29-points against Tampa Bay. Arian Foster (22), Frank Gore (17), and Peyton Manning (12) were the other top producers for FF.

Notable bench play came from Rams QB Sam Bradford's 32-points in victory over the Redskins.

Up Next: Backdoor Bandits (0-2)

96-76
WILDCATS def ALLIE-GATORS

Willis McGahee (28-points)
113 RuYd, 2 RuTD (2,2), 11 ReYd

The Wildcats picked up their first win of the season with a 20-point victory over the Allie-Gators, 96-76. Willis McGahee's big play on Monday night in Atlanta (28-points) sealed the deal for the Cats. Mark Sanchez (12), Jimmy Graham (17), and Calvin Johnson (9) helped out in an important win.

Up Next: The MEGATONS (1-1)

Matt Ryan (23-points)
219 PaYd, 2 PaTD (1,4), 19 RuYd

Matt Ryan once again led the Allie-Gators, but this week was a big letdown overall. Just 76-points in a tough loss to the Wildcats may be a cause for concern, but the Allie-Gators have risen to the occasion many times before. Though scoring was down, Tony Gonzalez (17) and Jonathan Stewart (16) played well for the Gators.

Carson Palmer (28) and Brandon Weeden (28) may be excellent starts alongside Ryan in coming weeks. They both played very well for the AGs in Week 2.

Up Next: Houston Fuzz (1-1)

158-81
HOUSTON FUZZ def PREDATORS

Eli Manning (43-points)
510 PaYd, 3 PaTD (28, 80, 33), 3 PaInt, -2 RuYd

An amazing day by any measurement, 510 passing yards for Superbowl champion Eli Manning helped the Fuzz unload on the Predators in a lopsided 158-81 victory in Week 2. Trent Richardon (31), Tom Brady (19), and Darren Sproles (12) contributed to the Fuzz's first win on the season.

Up Next: Allie-Gators (1-1)

Maurice Jones-Drew (16-points)
60 RuYd, 7 ReYd, ReTD (5)

MJD's 16-points were tops among Predators in Week 2 as they suffered a humbling defeat to the Houston Fuzz. Joe Flacco (15), the Packers DST (15), and Aaron Rodgers (14) were the other key players in a tough loss.

Notable bench play from Michael Vick (31) and the Bengals DST (17).

WEEK 2 PREVIEW

DELTA MARAUDERS (1-0)
Extra Crispy Division
Vernon Davis (TE)
vs
BACKDOOR BANDITS (0-1)
Original Division
Vincent Jackson (WR)

The Delta Marauders look to continue their winning ways with a battle against the Backdoor Bandits. The Bandits lead 9-0 after Thursday's game between Chicago and Green Bay but they are down to 8 players left. Matt Forte (7) and Jermichael Finley (2) will have to hope that the rest of the BB line-up can get them a W in Week 2.

For the Marauders, their hopes lie in the arms of Robert Griffin III, on the road for the second straight week, and the Lions QB Matt Stafford, who will play before a national prime time audience on the road in San Francisco.

The pressure is on for the Marauders and the Bandits in Week 2. CBS favors the Bandits, 149-138.

LOUD NOISES!!! (0-1)
Extra Crispy Division
Rob Gronkowski (TE)
vs
THE MEGATONS (0-1)
Original Division
CJ Spiller (RB)

From the looks of things, Rob Gronkowski had quite an offseason. Must be nice. Loud Noises!!! owner Ryan is off somewhere in the South rooting on his beloved Texas Longhorns this weekend. We'll see if they can stop the partying long enough to secure their first BCFFL victory.

Jake Locker (@ San Diego) and Andrew Luck (home against the Vikes) hope to step up big time for this all-important battle against league veteran Andrew and The Megatons.

The Megatons always right the ship sooner or later. CJ Spiller made a big impression with his 30-points last week and has played his way into the line-up. Ben Roethlisberger and Andy Dalton are both at home in Week 2, so perhaps this will be the week that the Tons get win #1.

CBS likes The Megatons, 156-140. Loud Noises!!! leads 9-0 entering play on Sunday.

HOUSTON FUZZ (0-1)
Extra Crispy Division
Percy Harvin (WR)
vs
  PREDATORS (1-0)
Original Division
Maurice Jones-Drew (RB)

The Predators hope to win in Week 2 as they face Tom Brady and the Houston Fuzz. The Preds are coming off an impressive win in Week 1 and lead 37-0 entering play this weekend. Andre Johnson and Dez Bryant are the remaining "studs" in the line-up for the Predators.

Meanwhile, the Fuzz look to get things going with Brady facing the Cardinals at home and Eli Manning battling the Bucs at home. This could definitely be bad news for the Predators. Plus, all 10 Fuzz players have yet to go.

CBS picks the Houston Fuzz, 164-152.

FRICK AND FRACK (1-0)
Extra Crispy Division
Larry Fitzgerald (WR)
vs
THE SPOILER (1-0)
Original Division
Brandon Lloyd (WR)

John (Frack) and Alex (Frick), with four BCFFL Championships between them, lived up to the hype in Week 1 with a $10 prize week and an important victory over the Wildcats. This week they battle the 1-0 Spoiler in an inter-division showdown.

Frick and Frack have the Second Coming of Peyton Manning at QB along with Texans star, Matt Schaub. The strong legs of Arian Foster and Frank Gore anchor the running game. And All-Pro Larry Fitzgerald and TE Antonio Gates balance the attack with their receiving game.

On the other side of the ball, The Spoiler looks for a second win on the season behind Cam Newton and Philip Rivers. They currently lead the game 7-0 after Thursday's opening game for Week 2. Steve Johnson and Brandon Lloyd can light up their receiving corps.

CBS favors Frick and Frack, 169-164.

ALLIE-GATORS (1-0)
Original Division
Tony Gonzalez (TE)
vs
WILDCATS (0-1)
Extra Crispy Division
Ahmad Bradshaw (RB)

The Allie-Gators hope to continue their strong start to the season with a win over the Wildcats. With an 11-0 lead heading into play on Sunday, the Gators turn to Matt Ryan once again for big time help. A pair of All-Pro tight ends - Antonio Gates and Tony Gonzalez - lead the receiving game.

Meanwhile, the Wildcats hope to earn their first hard fought victory with Mark Sanchez under center, and the running game of Stevan Ridley, Alfred Morris, Willis McGahee, and Ahmad Bradshaw.

CBS picks the Allie-Gators, 163-145.

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!

WEEK 1 REVIEW

  Original Division def Extra Crispy

110-102:

THE SPOILER def HOUSTON FUZZ

Cam Newton (17-pts)
303 PaYd, PaTD (22), 2 Paint, 4 RuYd

The Spoiler defeated the Houston Fuzz in Week 1's one and only inter-division contest, 110-102. Led by three players scoring 17-points, including their #1 draft pick Cam Newton, Philip Rivers, and Benjarvus Green-Ellis, The Spoiler improve to 1-0 on the season.

Rivers' performance on Monday night in Oakland was the difference-maker for The Spoiler in Week 1. Otherwise, the Houston Fuzz may have stole the victory. Other contributions for The Spoiler came through Steve Johnson of the Bills (15-pts) and Marshawn Lynch (9-pts).

Impressive bench contributions came from Niners QB Alex Smith (23-pts), Anquan Boldin (16-pts) and Donald Brown (12-pts).

Up Next: FRICK AND FRACK (1-0)

Tom Brady (23-pts)
236 PaYd, 2PaTD (23,2), RuYd

Week 1 was not kind to the Houston Fuzz who at least cracked the century mark with 102-points. Aside from Tom Brady's respectable outing, Shayne Graham (12-pts), Eli Manning (15-pts), and Darren Sproles (15-pts) were the other major contributors.

A total of 6-pts between Michael Turner and Tony Richardson at the other two RB spots hurt quite a bit, and Wes Welker had only 14 ReYD for 1-point in defeat.

Notable play off of the Houston bench included 21-pts out of Ryan Fitzpatrick, 15-pts from Nate Washington, and 14-pts from the Patriot DST.

Up Next: PREDATORS (1-0)

168-142:

FRICK & FRACK def WILDCATS

Peyton Manning (32-pts)
253 PaYD, 2PaTD (71, 1) Pa2P, 3 RuYD

Frick and Frack won the $10 prize for the league's highest score in Week 1 with 168-points in a win over Earl's Wildcats. Peyton Manning made his triumphant return to the NFL with a Sunday night victory over Pittsburgh before a prime time national audience. FF's #1 pick, Arian Foster got off to a solid start with 23-points and 2 TDs rushing. Matt Schaub (19), Shonn Green (17), Frank Gore (19), and Miles Austin (17) were among others in the line-up who contributed to FF's season-opening win.

Up Next: THE SPOILER (1-0)

Julio Jones (30-pts)
108 ReYD, 2 ReTD (8, 14)

The Wildcats would have defeated half of the league with their 142-points but the return of Peyton Manning ultimately did them in. The Cats had a sizable lead heading into Sunday night but could not stop Manning from rallying FF to victory. Blaine Gabbert (27) Stevan Ridley (22), and Jimmy Graham (18) got off in Week 1 for the Cats.

Notable play off the bench came from Mark Sanchez (29), Alfred Morris (29), and Lance Moore (22).

Up Next: ALLIE-GATORS (1-0)

154-147:

    PREDATORS def BACKDOOR BANDITS

Aaron Rodgers (29-pts)
303 PaYD, 2 PaTD (1, 10), PaInt, Pa2P, 27 RuYD

While Aaron Rodgers may have come up short in leading the Packers to victory over the Niners in Week 1, he led the way for the Predators to victory over the Backdoor Bandits. The Predators got in some outstanding production from around their line-up including Kevin Smith's 26-points which including TDs rushing and receiving. They also heard from  the Packers DST (18), Andre Johnson (21), and Michael Vick (22).

Up Next: HOUSTON FUZZ (0-1)

Tony Romo (32-pts)
307 PaYD, 3 PaTD (10, 40, 34), PaInt, 12 RuYD

Sparked by Tony Romo's outstanding night last Wednesday, the Bandits figured to march right into the rest of Week 1 and earn a victory over veteran BCFFLer, Derrick and the Predators. Matt Forte (20), Adrian Peterson (24), and Drew Brees (30) made a case for the BBs in Week 1. However, 11-points from Marques Colston (7) and Vincent Jackson (4) was probably the undoing.

Up Next: DELTA MARAUDERS (1-0)

163-141:

    ALLIE-GATORS def  THE MEGATONS

Matt Ryan (42-pts)
299 PaYD, 3 PaTD (8, 14, 7), 25 RuYD, RuTD (5)

Of all the QBs taken in our first round, and believe me, anyone who knows anything about the BCFFL knows that QBs go like hotcakes in the first round ... Matt Ryan clearly stood out above the rest in Week 1. His 42-points were the highest-scoring player that I saw in Week 1. And Ryan's efforts were nearly enough to get the Gators to the $10 prize, but they came up 5-points short in the end.

Other key play for the AGs in Week 1 came from Jay Cutler (26), Brandon Marshall (21), and the Jets DST (26).

Up Next: WILDCATS (0-1)

Demaryius Thomas (31-pts)
110 ReYD, ReTD (71)

Denver's Demaryius Thomas lit up the national audience with a thrilling 71-yard run into the end-zone on Peyton Manning's 400th touchdown pass, lifting his nightly total to 31-points for The Megatons. The veteran BCFFL squad also got great play in Week 1 from Ray Rice (24), Ben Roethlisberger (22), and Aaron Hernandez (15).

Key bench play came from CJ Spiller's 34-points on 169 yards and a 51-yard TD run.

Up Next: LOUD NOISES!!! (0-1)

108-99:

     DELTA MARAUDERS def  LOUD NOISES!!!

Robert Griffin III (38-pts)
320 PaYD, 2 PaTD (88, 5), 42 RuYD

Your back-to-back BCFFL Champions (2010-2011) Delta Marauders are baaaaack. The DMs opened the season in typical fashion: making the risky draft pick on the highly-touted rookie and it turns to gold. Good news for the DMs and bad news for the rest of us. RGIII is for real and the rest of the league just got served notice.

Meanwhile, it wasn't exactly a shootout in this match-up against BCFFL rookie Ryan and Loud Noises!!! David Akers' NFL record 63-yard field goal and his 15-points gave the DMs a boost. Other key play came from Matt Stafford (17) and Vernon Davis (14).

Up Next: BACKDOOR BANDITS (0-1)

Jake Locker (16-pts)
229 PaYD, PaTD (29), PaInt, 11 RuYD, FL

Welcome to the BCFFL, Ryan. No better way than to start off against the best: the Delta Marauders. It may have been a baptism by fire for Noises, but now that this is out of the way - first game - expect our league's highest football IQ to go to work.

Kind of a low-scoring week across the board with no player scoring more than 20 in the starting line-up. Andrew Luck (15), LeSean McCoy (13), and Rob Gronkowski (16) were the top contributors for Loud Noises!!!

Bench play of note included 30-points from Pierre Garçon, 23-points from Randall Cobb, and 20-points from Michael Bush.

Up Next: THE MEGATONS (0-1)
