The 2012 BCFFL draft was a complete success. Thank you for hosting the festivities and for all of the refreshments, Derrick. This year's draft was sponsored by Fat Tire, Pizza Hut, Jack in the Box, Coca-Cola, and on a personal note, 5-Hour Energy. We did beat the clock and wrapped up the draft a few minutes shy of midnight.
Once again, our league continued to be a QB-heavy draft in the early rounds. With all but a few exceptions, every team snatched up top quarterbacks from around the league with the quickness. Consequently, there were some surprises such as many publications' top-ranked RB Arian Foster dropping to 6th overall pick.
We welcome into our league three owners from the great state of Texas. More specifically, the Magnolia City's very own Chris (Houston Fuzz), Earl (Wildcats), and Ryan (Loud Noises!!!). Glad to have you boys. Thank you for being night owls and a happy Labor Day to you all.
Last night we were also pleased to welcome back to town a few other out-of-staters: Mike (Allie-Gators), in town from Colorado; and Kelvin (The Spoiler) in town from Nevada.
And other than your BCFFL regulars and locals - Derrick, Andrew, Greg, Shane, and myself - we welcome back three-time champion John as a co-owner with yours truly to the aptly named Frick and Frack (thank you, D).
With Shane riding a tsunami-like momentum into this season as back-to-back champions and gunning for an unprecedented threepeat, it's shaping up to be a very competitive and determined year for everyone across the league.
You can keep this page bookmarked throughout the year for weekly previews of each game on Friday and recaps of all the action every Tuesday.
