WEEK 2 PREVIEW: EXTRA CRISPY vs ORIGINAL SHOWDOWN!

In Week 2, every match-up features a team from the Extra Crispy Division battling a team from the Original Division. We have a couple of match-ups featuring teams that suffered defeat in Week 1 (Bandits vs Cougars, Fuzz vs Gauchos) and another match-up featuring the league's top two teams (Predators vs Delta Marauders). The season is early, but this inter-divisional showdown could set the tone for what lies ahead. Week 2 is shaping up to be a pivotal week of BCFFL action. On to the match-ups:

GAME of the WEEK

PREDATORS (1-0)
Original Division
vs
DELTA MARAUDERS (1-0)
Extra Crispy Division

Manning vs Brady

This week's marquee match-up pits the defending BCFFL Champion Predators and their top draft pick, Peyton Manning, up against the Delta Marauders, and their top draft pick, Tom Brady. This storied rivalry in the NFL has many interesting chapters, and it will once again most likely define the outcome of this weekend's Game of the Week in the BCFFL.

Both QBs started the season with big games last Sunday as Manning dropped 45-points and Brady threw 3 TD passes in a rout of Cincinnati. This Sunday the Pats travel to face the Jets while Peyton Manning gets a nationwide audience on Sunday night in prime time on NBC against his younger brother, Eli.

In a supporting role for the Predators this weekend, look for the NFL's latest emerging star RB Arian Foster to reprise his amazing performance last Sunday at home against Indy. Brett Favre will be slinging against the Dolphins. Big Andre Johnson looks to get on track alongside Larry Fitzgerald and Brandon Marshall  at receiver.

Meanwhile, the Marauders will counter with last week's top BCFFL performer, Matt Forte, and his 50-points as the Bears battle the Cowboys. Dez Bryant and Roddy White handle the receiving duties, and newly-acquired Willis McGahee and Sam Bradford round out the line-up.

Big games are usually won by the little guys, so we'll see which team has enough of the little things to get the job done in Week 2 as the Predators and Delta Marauders battle in our Game of the Week.

THE MEGATONS (1-0)
 Extra Crispy Division
vs
THE SPOILER (1-0)
Original Division

Brees vs Rodgers

It just wouldn't be the BCFFL unless the QBs were the center of attention. This match-up featuring The Megatons and The Spoiler is no exception. It will be Drew Brees and the Super Bowl Champion Saints on Monday night in San Francisco battling this year's Fantasy Football posterboy, Aaron Rodgers, as the Packers take on the Buffalo Bills.

Both QBs looked worthy of their status as top fantasy picks in Week 2 and look to continue their fast start in their respective games this weekend. The supporting cast will presumably make all the difference in the world as Andrew and Kelvin square off in a battle of early unbeatens.

For The Megatons, look for Matt Ryan to make a big contribution in Atlanta as the Falcons face the Cardinals, and Steven Jackson may peel off a few big runs right here in Oakland against the Raiders. Miles Austin and Steve Smith look to continue their hot start at WR along with Dwayne Bowe of Kansas City.

The Spoiler will try to get win #2 with players such as Chris Cooley, who Donovan McNabb seemed to throw to a great deal last Sunday night; Hakeem Nicks, who opened the season with 3 TD receptions against Carolina; and Rashard Mendenhall, who broke off a 50-yard TD run for the Steelers in their opening weekend win against Atlanta.

This game figures to be split right down the middle. It should be a good one as The Megatons battle The Spoiler in Week 2.

PARKING THUGS (0-1)
 Extra Crispy Division
vs
ALLIE-GATORS (1-0)
Original Division

RIVERS & ROMO

Again we find ourselves staring at a top match-up this weekend featuring a couple of the NFL's best QBs, except this time they're both on the same team. The Parking Thugs got off to a tough start last weekend, but with Rivers and Romo throwing the football, the Allie-Gators may have their hands full. This Sunday, the #10 and #11 overall draft picks will square off against Jacksonville (Rivers) and Chicago (Romo). They should wind up with the lion's share of the Thugs' points.

Brandon Jackson was picked up in a lottery drawing this week for the Thugs. Jackson replaces the Packers' injured, RB, Ryan Grant, as Green Bay faces Buffalo. Nate Washington looks to continue his strong start as he faces his former team when the Titans play Pittsburgh.

WELCOME BACK, WELKER!

Meanwhile, the Allie-Gators may have got the steal of this year's draft when they took the new-and-improved Wes Welker, back from a knee injury. Welker caught 2 TD passes in New England's home opener against Cincinnati. He looks to continue his strong start as the Pats battle their division rival, NY Jets this Sunday.

Jay Cutler will also hope to rekindle the magic from his 372-yard passing performance in Week 1 as the Bears face Dallas. Reggie Wayne and Greg Jennings can also light up the scoreboard quickly as they lead the receiving corps for the Gators.

Either the Thugs' QBs will lead the way, or the Allie-Gators will continue their high-scoring ways in this BCFFL battle in Week 2.

HOUSTON FUZZ (0-1)
 Extra Crispy Division
vs
GAUCHOS (0-1)
Original Division

SCHAUB & THE FUZZ

A few heads turned when the Houston Fuzz drafted hometown hero, Matt Schaub with their first pick in the first round of this year's BCFFL draft. A few more heads turned when Schaub and the Texans opened the season with what many are calling a watershed victory over their AFC South rivals, the Indianapolis Colts. This weekend, the Fuzz look to recover from a narrow Week 1 defeat to The Megatons as they take on the Gauchos.

Carson Palmer will hope to get the Super Bowl bound Bengals up and running as the T.O. Show and Chad Ochocinco take on the Ravens. The Fuzz trio of RBs hopes to inflict some pain on the Gauchos as well with the likes of Marion Barber, Ronnie Brown, and Ryan Mathews carrying the rock.

Both the Fuzz and the Gauchos have a Colts receiver looking to score big. Last weekend, Austin Collie had a career outing against Houston, racking up 36 fantasy points. Will it be Collie once again or Pierre Garçon this Sunday night against the Giants that gets all the attention from Peyton Manning?

JAMAAL CHARLES - CHIEFS

Either way with the Colts receivers, the Gauchos biggest revelation early in the season is their star at running back, Jamaal Charles, who simply went off against the Chargers on Monday night. Will he have more left in the tank this weekend as the Chiefs face the Browns? One would certainly think so. Charles ran for nearly 700 yards in the last 4 regular season games last year. He continued his hot streak with a 70+ yard TD run against the Bolts in Week 1. What will he have in store for the Browns this weekend? Stay tuned!

The Gauchos also hope to see a better outing from their #1 pick, Ray Rice, as the Ravens take on the Bengals. And Matt Hasselbeck seems to have the Seahawks moving in the right direction once again. Along with Vince Young, this could prove to be a nice little duo throwing the ball for the Gauchos.

Both teams are hungry for their first win of the fantasy season. We'll see if the Fuzz can right the ship or perhaps the Gauchos, back in the BCFFL after a year off, can get the job done in Week 2.

BACKDOOR BANDITS (0-1)
 Extra Crispy Division
vs
COUGARS (0-1)
Original Division

McNABB vs MANNING

The final match-up in Week 2 features the Original Division's Backdoor Bandits and their QB, Donovan McNabb, going up against the Extra Crispy Division's Cougars, and their QB, Eli Manning. The Cougars lost another inter-division battle in Week 1 to the Predators. They'll hope to get on track with a win as the younger Manning brother, Eli, battles his big brother, Peyton on NBC this Sunday night.

GORE!

The Cougars attack you at RB with a couple of the game's best: Frank Gore and Adrian Peterson. Gore has the Monday night game at home against New Orleans. Peterson, meanwhile, will be at home as the Vikings host the Dolphins. If these two backs get off to a hot start, things could get ugly quick for the Bandits.

The receiving corps for the Cougars consists of Chad Ochocino, Percy Harvin, Calvin Johnson, and Antonio Gates. There's no question that Calvin Johnson will look to score a TD properly this weekend after last Sunday's gaffe in Chicago dropping the ball on what would have been the winning catch.

The Bandits are no slouches either. They not only have the Redskins new franchise QB, Donovan McNabb, but the newly-appointed starter at QB in Philadelphia, Michael Vick. Darren McFadden played his way into the starting line-up with his impressive performance last weekend in Tennessee. He hopes to stay hot at home as the Raiders face St. Louis.

And who can forget that while the Cougars may have Peterson and Gore, the Bandits have this year's #1 overall draft pick handling the rushing duties for their team? That's right, welcome, Chris Johnson.

So while nearly every other game features major QB match-ups, and even this one does to an extent, the major focus in this game most certainly favors the RB battle of Gore/Peterson and CJ.

The Bandits receivers will hope to lighten the load for Johnson as DeSean Jackson and Santana Moss handle those duties. Throw Michael Turner and Tony Gonzalez in for good measure, and the Bandits could be staring at a big win in Week 2.

Best of luck to all as we enter Week 2 of BCFFL action. It's the Extra Crispy Division taking on the Original Division in five huge games this weekend!
