GAUCHOS ENJOY PREDATORS BYE WEEK!
ANQUAN BOLDIN
92 rec yards, ReTD (34)
The Gauchos were ever the opportunist in Week 7, taking advantage of a weakened Predators line-up sans Peyton Manning and Arian Foster. Anquan Boldin stepped up with a 92-yard outing and a TD. Randy Moss (13) literally saved the day catching a TD pass right after Visanthe Shiancoe was robbed on what might have been the game-saving catch and Week 7 victory for the Predators. It wasn't to be though. Matt Hasselbeck (16) and Kevin Kolb (14) combined for 30-points. That was about it for 99-points and a Gaucho victory over the division-leading Predators. The Gauchos left the Original Division basement open for the Allie-Gators, who fell hard to the Backdoor Bandits, 122-93.
PHILIP RIVERS
336 passing yards, PaTD (4)
So without Manning and Foster, what did the Predators look like in Week 7? Philip Rivers came through with 20-points. Ahmad Bradshaw was the last hope on Monday night after Shiancoe's TD was reversed and Bradshaw racked up 126 rushing yards for 13-points, but no TDs in New York's 41-35 victory over Dallas.
The receiving corps of Branch (3) and Marshall (5) were awful.
Bills WR Steve Johnson could have made a big difference with his 25-points on the bench. He finished the day with 158 receiving yards and a 33-yard TD pass against Baltimore.
BACKDOOR BANDITS GAIN MOMENTUM!
122-93 WIN OVER AGS
MICHAEL TURNER
121 rushing yards, 2 RuTD (2, 3)
Michael Turner led the Backdoor Bandits to a huge win over their division rivals, the Allie-Gators, 122-93, in Week 7. Turner scored twice and rushed for 121 yards. Matt Cassel was sharp with 193 passing yards and 2 TDs (53, 6). The Titans DST contributed 19 PA, DTD (41), 2 Int, 2 DFR, and a sack for 13-points. Santana Moss left 16-points in the Bandits favor. And Donovan McNabb was good for 12 on 200 passing yards and a TD (24) in Week 7.
One monster miss was the extreme bar-fighter, himself, Kenny Britt, who entered the weekend the subject of a late-night altercation at a local watering hole. How did he respond to all the press? Oh, just a 62-point day on 225 receiving yards, 3 TDs (26, 80, 16) all while on the bench. Luckily, it was not needed.
But then there was also the 61-points the Bandits left on the bench as Darren McFadden rushed for 165 yards and scored 4 TDs: three rushing (4, 4, 57) and one receiving (19). When's the last time a team left two players on the bench that scored more than 60-points in a single week? The Elias Sports Bureau is all over this one. Wonder if these two guys will ride the wood again in Week 8?
MAURICE JONES-DREW
47 rushing yards, 74 receiving yards, ReTD (18)
The Gators once again watched as Ryan Fitzpatrick and Lee Evans (actually on their team) had all-pro weekends for a combined 81-points. These two bench players connected 3 times for TDs (33, 20, 17), and Fitzpatrick went on for 382 passing yards, 20 rushing yards, and 4 TDs total. That's a total of 204-points on the bench between 4 players in this match-up. Wow!
MJD led the way for the Gators with 21-points. David Akers hit four FGs (25, 46, 46, 28) and an XP for 13-points. Greg Jennings caught a 14-yard TD on Sunday night at Lambeau for 17-points.
It simply wasn't enough is what turned out to be a very unusual game with MANY unclaimed points.
GAME of the WEEK #2
COUGARS ROLL, 136-98 OVER SPOILER
ELI MANNING
33-points
The Extra Crispy Division narrowed the inter-division record to 9-6 in favor of the Original Division. Eli Manning turned up the heat on Dallas, forcing their fans to don brown bag masks at the end of this game with 4 TDs (7, 8, 14, 25).
Adrian Peterson rushed for 131 yards and a TD for 25-points in Green Bay. Chad Ochocinco had 108 receiving yards and a TD (8) for 20-points. Frank Gore had 15-points on 102 yards rushing and 57 receiving yards.
The Cougars remain in the driver's seat, a game in front of The Megatons (5-2 to 4-3) in the ECD.
AARON RODGERS
23-points
The Spoiler are now on a 2-game losing streak, falling to the Predators and Cougars in successive weeks. Aaron Rodgers remains the team leader with 23-points in Week 7 on 295 passing yards and 2 TDs (9, 14).
Kyle Orton passed for 198 yards and 2 TDs (7, 27) for 21-points in a humiliating home defeat to Oakland.
Terrell Owens matched Chad Ochochinco's 20-points with 18 of his own on 88 receiving yards and a TD (19).
Kerry Collins was left on The Spoiler's bench with 276 passing yards and 3 TDs for 33-points. Hakeem Nicks was benched in Dallas for the NYG and wound up with 2 TDs (7, 8) and 108 receiving yards.
The Spoiler will hope to snap their two-game skid in Week 8.
DELTA MARAUDERS WIN $10 PRIZE!
DROP 206-POINTS ON THUGS
RODDY WHITE
42-points
So this is what the Delta Marauders are capable of! Roddy White caught 2 TDs (43, 11) on 201 yards for 4-points in victory over the Parking Thugs. "Big" Ben Roethlisberger passed for 302 yards and 2 TDs (21, 53) for 33-points. Dez Bryant caught 2 TDs (15, 15) on returned a punt 93-yards for a TD on his way to a 41-point night. Mike Wallace caught a 53-yard TD for 25-points. Vernon Davis caught a TD and contributed 17-points to add to the 206-point total for the Marauders in Week 7.
STEVE SMITH
20-points
The Parking Thugs did not rebound as they have every other week. Instead, this week they maintained their poor production point-wise and got pounded, 206-95 to the Delta Marauders. Receiver Steve Smith was the lone bright spot with 101 receiving yards and a 14-yard receiving TD for 20-points. Zach Miller (16) caught a 43-yard TD for Oakland. Brett Favre (10) and Tony Romo (7, before breaking his collar bone) combined for 17-points.
The Thugs did have Todd Heap (25), Thomas Jones (20), Brandon Jackson (17), and Josh Freeman (20) on the bench in Week 7. It most likely wouldn't have been enough to crack 200, but some line-up changes may be in order for Week 8.
MEGATONS KEEP ON WINNING!
184-128 OVER THE FUZZ
DWAYNE BOWE
2 TDs (53, 6); 38-points
The Megatons have started winning ballgames and appear to be right back in a familiar spot, just a game shy of the Extra Crispy Division lead. Dwayne Bowe continues to look like a Pro Bowler with Kansas City. He caught 2 TDs for 38-points in Week 7 as Kansas City defeated Jacksonville.
Matt Ryan (32) and Drew Brees (21) combined for 53-points. Hines Ward made himself welcome on the roster with a TD (21) and 131 receiving yards for 23-points. Rob Bironas kicked his way to 13-points on 3 FGs (41, 38, 33). The Packers DST was strong with 24 PA, DTD (32), 3 Int, and a sack for 12-points. And Knowshon Moreno starred for Denver in a big loss to Oakland with 90 all-purpose yards and 2 receiving TDs (7, 27).
CARSON PALMER
44-points
The Houston Fuzz fell to The Megatons, but they got a great outing from Carson Palmer on the way to defeat, 184-128. Palmer passed for 412 yards and 3 TDs (19, 64, 8) for 44-points. Joe Flacco (30) once again filled in admirably for Matt Schaub, out on the bye week. Marques Colston caught a TD (8) on 1123 yards for 21-points. Jason Witten also had 21-points on 95 receiving yards and a TD (4). Stephen Gostkowski kicked 3 FGs (40, 35, 35) and 2 XP for 11-points. It simply wasn't enough for the Fuzz, who now hope to climb back into contention in the ECD.
Congratulations to all Week 7 winners, and best of luck to everyone in Week 8!
And GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GIANTS!
