REVENGE SO SWEET!
THE SPOILER def PREDATORS
158-147
AARON RODGERS
36-points
The Spoiler avenged their loss to the Predators earlier this season with an impressive 158-147 victory in Week 12. Aaron Rodgers' big day for the Packers helped a lot: 344 passing yards and a TD; 51 rushing yards and a TD.
Along with Kyle Orton (35-points), The Spoiler threw for 691 yards in Week 12 with 4 TDs (41, 16, 5, 10). The ground game wasn't so strong with 186 yards, but 3 rushing TDs helped a lot. And in the air, Brandon Lloyd came up with big numbers to support Orton, catching 2 TDs and 76 yards on the day against St. Louis.
Eddie Royal had a big day on the bench for The Spoiler with 19-points providing some depth to the roster.
PEYTON HILLIS
43-points
It's too bad the Predators couldn't all be as productive as Cleveland's Peyton Hillis. The "Winnebago," as Shannon Sharpe likes to refer to him, scored 3 times against Carolina on Sunday and rushed for 131 yards.
QBs Peyton Manning and Philip Rivers squared off on Sunday night and combined for 470 yards passing a 2 TDs (4,6). This was obviously a bit of a letdown from their usual output.
Arian Foster failed to score against Tennessee but still had a big day with 21 points on 143 rushing yards and 75 receiving yards.
A big loss on the bench was Deion Branch who caught a 75-yard TD pass on Thanksgiving and finished the day with 41-points. Still, the Predators remain the #1 overall seed heading into the postseason. The Spoiler are currently battling for the #3 seed against the Cougars.
PLAYOFF TICKET PUNCHED:
BACKDOOR BANDITS
BANDITS def GAUCHOS
144-94
MATT CASSEL
37-points
The Backdoor Bandits punched their ticket to the playoffs with a big win over the Gauchos in Week 12. Matt Cassel had a lot to do with that as he passed 4 touchdowns and 233 yards. Michael Vick also had a big day for Philly in defeat to Chicago: 30-points on 333 yards and 2 TDs.
The Jets DST came through with a kickoff return on Thanksgiving night against Cincinnati and contributed 28-points in victory.
Mike Goodson added 21-points rushing on the bench for the Bandits.
MATT HASSELBECK
28-points
The Gauchos failed to "spoil" anything in Week 12 for the Backdoor Bandits. Matt Hasselbeck starred in defeat with 25-points. Jamaal Charles added 25-points with 173 rushing yards and a TD for Kansas City.
And absent from the game was Miami QB Chad Henne who came into Oakland and beat up the Raiders to the tune of 31-points.
PLAYOFF TICKET PUNCHED:
DELTA MARAUDERS
MARAUDERS def HOUSTON FUZZ
101-91
TOM BRADY
47-points
The Delta Marauders are officially "in" the playoffs thanks to their 10-point win over the Fuzz in Week 12. Tom Brady played a pivotal role in victory with his 47-point outburst on Thanksgiving in Detroit. He threw 4 TDs on 341 yards.
Joining Brady was RB Matt Forte who added 13-points on 117 rushing yards and 22 receiving yards.
Sam Bradford has been as reliable a fantasy QB as any this season and currently leads the NFC West leading Rams, but remains a fixture on the Marauders bench. He had 33-points in victory over Denver in Week 12.
JOE FLACCO
30-points
The Fuzz were unable to lend a hand to the Thugs or Gators in Week 12 as they came up short against the Delta Marauders. They dropped to 2-10 on the season.
Joe Flacco and Matt Schaub combined for 50-points on 467 yards and 4 TDs.
Mario Manningham was on the bench in Week 12 for the N.Y. Giants with 13-points. Another tough loss for the Fuzz.
CLOSE BUT NO CIGAR:
PARKING THUGS
THUGS def COUGARS
124-111
JACOBY FORD
37-points
The Parking Thugs did their part in Week 12 to keep their season alive, but the Bandits and Marauders won their games and thus eliminated the Thugs from playoff contention. Jacoby Ford had another big day at the Coliseum, this time returning a kick for a TD and coming up with 37-points.
BenJarvus Green-Ellis had 21-points on 59 rushing yards and 2 TDs. The Thugs may not have helped themselves in Week 12, but they certainly helped The Megatons. The Cougars defeat means they're now trailing The Megatons in the Extra Crispy Division after holding a lead since Week 1.
ELI MANNING
23-points
The scoring drought continues for the Cougars. Eli Manning was the team's leading scorer with 23-points on 226 yards passing and 2 TDs at home against Jacksonville.
Calvin Johnson had 19-points receiving. The Raiders DST added 18-points against Miami. However, Adrian Peterson and Frank Gore (now out for the season) had just 112 rushing yards and a TD combined.
The Cougars are still playoff bound, but trail The Megatons for the division lead.
CLOSE BUT NO CIGAR:
ALLIE-GATORS
THE MEGATONS def COUGARS
155-115
DWAYNE BOWE
47-points
Who is the hottest player in fantasy football at this point? One could argue that 13 TDs in his past 7 games makes Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe the answer to that question. He caught 3 more TDs against Seattle and added 47 huge points in victory over the Allie-Gators to secure a lead for The Megatons in the Extra Crispy Division.
Miles Austin was good for 24-points in defeat for Dallas. Shaun Hill (now banged up) had 18-points on Turkey Day for Detroit.
JAY CUTLER
37-points
A frustrating season came to an end for the Allie-Gators as they went down in defeat to The Megatons in Week 12. (Here's a late happy birthday to you, Mike! Sorry about the loss.)
Jay Cutler was outstanding in victory against Philadelphia with 37-points. Ryan Fitzpatrick remains hot in Buffalo and added 23-points against Pittsburgh.
A tough stat to look at for the Gators after this game wrapped was Fred Jackson's 35-points on the bench for Buffalo and Wes Welker's 29-points receiving for New England. Those 64-points might have come in handy.
Either way, a tough loss for the Allie-Gators.
Congratulations to this year's playoff teams:
- Predators (bye)
- The Megatons (bye)
- The Spoiler
- Cougars
- Backdoor Bandits
- Delta Marauders
This weekend coming up is our season finale. Remember that all teams are still able to win the $10 prize for the highest score of the week. So keep turning in your rosters online regardless of the playoffs. The Spoiler and Cougars are still jostling for position at the 3-spot this weekend.
If the playoffs started this weekend, Kelvin would be facing Shane, and Ken would be facing Greg. We'll have to see what happens. Good luck, and stay tuned!
