WILD CARD ROUND-UP

LOWER SEEDS ADVANCE!

(#6) BACKDOOR BANDITS
def (#3) THE SPOILER
277 - 49

DARREN McFADDEN
64-points

The Backdoor Bandits had an absolute explosion of points in Week 14 to advance to this year's semifinals where they will face the #1-seed, Predators. Darren McFadden led the way with a dominating performance in Northern Florida scoring 64-points in a dramatic 38-31 loss to the Jaguars.

The Bandits had an astonishing 7 rushing touchdowns on 368 yards. McFadden recorded two double-TDs: one rushing (51) and one receiving (67).

DeSEAN JACKSON
41-points

Is there a deadlier pass-catch duo in the BCFFL this season greater than Michael Vick to DeSean Jackson? These two combined for 77-points and connected on a 91-yard TD pass Sunday night against Dallas.

MICHAEL VICK
36-points

Michael Vick continues to be a lightning bolt of production in the NFL this year and has quickly risen to becoming a premiere QB on the Eagles. Once again he took over the game against Dallas and added 36-points, accounting for 3 TDs (2 passing, 1 rushing).

MICHAEL TURNER
36-points

Michael Turner rushed for 3 TDs and 124 yards in a victory over Carolina last Sunday. The league's #1 overall pick, Chris Johnson was good for 25-points last Thursday against Indianapolis, but he ranked third among Bandit RBs in Week 14. That's saying a lot about the progress of McFadden and the production of Turner in Atlanta.

MALCOLM FLOYD
25-points

You can't forget about the WRs on the Backdoor Bandits, either. Besides DeSean Jackson and his crazy statistics, last week Malcolm Floyd had a big game against Kansas City. He caught 2 TDs on 51 yards in a shutout victory.

So, the Backdoor Bandits steamroll their way to the semifinals where they'll put up their studs against this year's hottest team and your defending BCFFL champions, the Predators. It will be exciting to watch Vick and Manning going after it; Arian Foster and Peyton Hillis battling Johnson, McFadden, and Turner; and Andre Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald, and Deion Branch squaring off against DeSean Jackson and Malcolm Floyd. This is going to be a big time heavyweight battle for a spot in our championship game. Best of luck to both next weekend!

GIANTS DST
11-points

There is no real good way to explain what happened to The Spoiler in Week 14. The Spoiler split the season series with the Backdoor Bandits, which included their Round 1 victory. However, last weekend everything fell apart at the same time and The Spoiler were reduced to 49-points, which includes the "home field advantage" heading into the game.

The Giants DST was the team's leading scorer with 11-points on Monday night in Detroit against Minnesota. Tough luck in this game for The Spoiler, but they had one helluva season qualifying as the #3-seed and recording some big victories along the way.

DELTA MARAUDERS (#5)
def COUGARS (#4)
121.5 -74

TOM BRADY
36-points

The Delta Marauders are riding the Tom Brady Express at this point. Brady had his lowest week in the past 3 games with 36-points, dropping 40- and 47-points in his previous two outings. In his past 3 games, Brady has thrown for 1,036 yards and 10 touchdowns with 0 interceptions. Can you name a hotter QB in the league? He has about a 70% accuracy throwing the rock. The numbers are mind-boggling, and the crazy part is he's doing it with BenJarvus Green-Ellis, Danny Woodhead, and Deion Branch. But Brady is Brady and he has the three rings on his resume. So, as Brady goes, so go the Delta Marauders. And for now, the Marauders are definitely going places.

With this victory, the Marauders will face The Megatons who they narrowly defeated (thanks to Brady!) just two weeks ago. It will be interesting to see if Tom Brady can sustain his record-setting pace this weekend when the Patriots take on the Packers at Foxboro.

PATRIOTS DST
18-points

The Patriots are getting it done on both sides of the ball. They put 18-points on the board against the Chicago Bears in Week 14 with a 35-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown, two interceptions, and two sacks.

VERNON DAVIS
17-points

Once again, the 49ers tight end Vernon Davis came through with a big game scoring on the opening drive to lead his team to a 40-21 victory over Seattle.

BEN ROETHLISBERGER
14-points

Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger is playing sidekick to Tom Brady at this point, but he was good for 14-points on Sunday against Cincinnati. "Big" Ben had 258 passing yards but no TDs.

BRIAN WESTBROOK
30-points

The Cougars came up short against the Marauders and our #4 seed has been eliminated from the playoffs. Brian Westbrook was the team's leading scorer with 30-points, which included a 62-yard receiving TD. This helped offset the loss of Frank Gore for the Cougars.

However, Adrian Peterson was held to 2-points by the Giants DST on Monday. The two NYQBs combined for just 21-points. It was clearly a frustrating week for the Cougars and so, the season has come to an end.

(#1) PREDATORS
Week 14 Total: 166-points
Semi-final opponent:
(#6) BACKDOOR BANDITS

DEION BRANCH
35-points

The Predators scored 166-points in Week 14, which would have been 111-points less than they needed to defeat the Bandits in Week 14. Over the past 3 weeks, the Predators have score 437-points, which brings their average to 146-points per game. The Bandits have scored 550-points over the past 3 weeks, and are averaging 183-points in that same stretch. Can the Bandits sustain that pace for another week?

Peyton Manning got back on track with 27-points in Week 14. Philip Rivers rebounded with 21-points after struggling against Oakland. Andre Johnson came through on Monday night for Houston with 34-points.

The Predators have the record and the players to convince any skeptic that they can get the job done. We now have to wait and see what the Fantasy Football Gods have to say about it in Week 15.

(#2) THE MEGATONS
Week 14 Total: 106-points
Semi-final opponent:
(#5) DELTA MARAUDERS

DREW BREES
25-points

The Megatons tons, a model of consistency, are back in their traditional spot with a shot at a spot in the BCFFL championship game. Drew Brees led The Megatons with 25-points in Week 14 against St. Louis. The team overall struggled with just 106-points. They will need a much better effort (and for Tom Brady to lay an egg against Green Bay) to advance.

Knowshon Moreno (19) and Brandon Jacobs (19) were outstanding at RB. Matt Ryan was average at 15-points. You'd have to think he will regroup from that dismal performance in Week 15. So, The Megatons have a shot at revenge from the Tom Brady Comeback a couple of weeks ago and eliminate the Delta Marauders from the playoffs. Or, the Marauders can march into Week 16 with a shot at gold.

Congratulations to both the
BACKDOOR BANDITS
and the
 DELTA MARAUDERS
for their Wild Card Playoff victories!
